About Reiki
Rei (pronounced "ray" - this first syllable is stressed) signifying "Universal" and Ki (pronounce "key") meaning "Life Force". Thus Reiki signifies the energy that vitalises and unifies everything. Whether or not you believe in a personal God or hold to a particular religious doctrine is immaterial to Reiki's effect. Many people find a Reiki treatment to be a spiritual experience - others will prefer to interpret the experience using different words.
What Reiki will and Won't Do
Reiki will not immunise you from the problems, challenges, and general difficulties of life. It is not a guarantee of perfect health. It is a commitment to well-being. You assume personal responsibility to live a healthy lifestyle. For example, don't expect to over-eat and under-exercise and use Reiki as a talisman against the consequences of your behaviour.
